TeachersCount Wants Your Response to “Waiting for Superman”
Davis Guggenheim’s “Waiting for Superman” is a well made and important film. However, we at TeachersCount believe it lacks the most essential voice in the education debate: the teacher’s. That is why we want to hear what you have to say. What does the documentary fail to convey about the system? Why are teachers the scapegoat for so many faults in a largely mismanaged system? What needs to happen to enact change right now? These questions are only the beginning. Participate in the debate in whatever form you’d like. A blog entry, a link to a YouTube video, an audio recording—anything to let us help you be heard. Email info@teacherscount.org with your response and let the country know why teachers really do count.

TeachersCount and Tonic.com
TeachersCount and Tonic.com want to hear your story. Tonic.com is a web outlet dedicated to promoting positive news stories from around the world. In our column, different teachers about his/her experience, about what they do in their classroom and about themselves. The format is that of an informal interview — a dialogue in which the words of the teacher are the complete focus. The subject matter may range from special programs or initiatives — be they extracurricular or purely academic — begun by the teachers, to his/her life outside of the school: creative endeavors, stories about family, etc. If you are interested in being interviewed, email bgilman@teacherscount.org with your information and a short summary of your story. In the meantime, check out Tonic.com to read previous interviews.
